• Hi there!

Prior to moving my site to self-hosted I had a site on WordPress. I disabled that site and but not deleted. Somehow when I comment on certain wp sites the comments and the follows do not appear to me on my hosted site but they some how go to the wpsite? How can I stop this? How can I migrate those followers and comments to my hosted site?

When you switch from .com to a self-hosted site, you’re making some trade-offs. Not everything works the same way between the two, but you have tons of options available to you when you self-host that you don’t have at .com.

Have a look at this page to get started. Then if you have specific questions about migrating certain things, try asking about it at the .com support forums. Some of us here don’t use certain .com features and so aren’t familiar with the details. Good luck!

Bill thanks this makes sense (and no I did not see it last week my apologies) I am trying to understand a million things about this.

Anyway I had JetPak and it caused some confusion with WPSSO so I removed it. This is all confusing and its like everything is some kind of conflict I just can’t get my site where I need it to be.

Usually the conflict between WPSSO and Jetpack is the Open Graph issue… You would need to turn off the Open Graph for one or the other, and make sure you’re not using extensions in Jetpack that are overlapping with the functions that you want WPSSO to take care of.
