• I’m new to WordPress and not quite sure what to do about this.

Installed the WP Security Scan plugin. I ran the scan and the one issue highlighted by the scan is: “The file .htaccess does not exist in wp-admin/”
My question is what would be the optimal .htaccess file for wp-admin? I ran across the article, Hardening WordPress with htaccess which was written in 2007. I’m not clear on whether the advice in the article is still valid for WordPress 3.0. And if not, pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.

I’ve done a bit of searching on htaccess and much of the info I find was written for earlier versions of WordPress.

Advice on this is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    wdy

I’m also getting this after running the scanner:
“Warning: fileperms() [function.fileperms]: stat failed for ../.htaccess in /home/…/…/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wp-security-scan/functions.php on line 22”

    And below that:
    Neededchmod Currentchmod
    wp-includes/ ../wp-includes 0755 755.
    .htaccess ../.htaccess 0644 .0.

    ?
