    Hello,

    I’m using two WordPress Sites.

One as feed source (default WP feed features).
One with a widget (WP RSS Default Widget).

The URL can be read (/feed/ after url) of the source site, but no post date is being shown; in the RSS Widget on the other site. A other RSS feed from a non WP-site (for testing) perfectly shows a date, for each RSS item in the output of the widget.

But a given WordPress /feed/, the default WP RSS widget shows no post-date.

Is this a feature? Or is there a trick to display the post date in the RSS widget with a WP feed?

    Thanks in advance,

You shouldn’t need /feed/ in a WP URL provided to the widget.

Do you have the “display date” switch on in the widget’s block settings? (view settings via the gear icon)

If you have the switch on and no /feed/ in the URL, perhaps there’s something unusual about the feed’s content? Request the feed directly (example.com/?feed=rss2) and examine the content. There should be a <pubDate> field for every item.

@bcworkz You are right, the problem is a hidden setting.

Solved it: by returning to the old ‘widget-managing style’; trough a third party plugin. There I was able to view and edit the widget its ‘short-code’ and change the setting your describing.

    Thank you. Solved!
