WP Retina 2X clashes with Beaver Builder plugin

    Hi, I don’t need technical help. I’m simply contacting you to let you know that WP Retina 2x seems to be interfering with the Beaver Builder plugin. When I activate WP Retina 2X, Beaver Builder doesn’t work. When I deactivate WP Retina 2X, Beaver Builder works fine.

    Through trial and error, I came up with this workaround (for anybody having this same problem: 1.) Temporarily turn off WP Retina 2x, so that you can use Beaver Builder to create the layout. 2.) Once the layout is done, reactivate WP Retina 2X, and the layout created with Beaver Builder should still look good. 3.) If you want to modify the layout in the future, deactivate WP Retina 2X again, temporarily, until you’ve completed those modifications. 4.) Then reactivate WP Retina. So long as I use that workaround, the problem is solved. But if, in the future, WP Retina 2X can be made to work with Beaver Builder, that would be nice.

    Hi,

    I am working on a bunch of updates (for other plugins, in preparation of WP 5) so that’s hard to check right now. I am a bit surprised because I have never heard of this issue before, and also, WP Retina 2x doesn’t influence/change the Admin of WP at all. Did you check the settings of Retina? You could also try to turn off all the settings related to ADMIN UI.

    Also, when both are enabled and crashing, did you check your console logs?

    I have noted this and it will be definitely fix in January, but right now it’s going to be difficult, except if I receive many feedbacks about this of course ??

    I work for BB – I just tested the two plugins and I don’t see any obvious issues with just the 2 plugins active.

    It’s not an urgent problem for me, since I’ve come up with a workaround (deactivate WP Retina 2x temporarily when using Beaver Builder to create a layout; then reactivate WP Retina 2x). So immediate help isn’t necessary. But unlike Jamie’s results, the problem does still persist on my websites (both live and localhost). All my WP Retina 2X ADMIN UI settings were already turned off. My error log doesn’t identify any problems. And the glitch happens even when I’m using the Twenty Sixteen theme, as well as my usual theme. Regards!

    In your thread in the BB forum, another team member found no problem either. Does the problem occur for you with JUST BB and the Retina plugin active? If so, what theme are you using?

    Yes, Jamie, the problem occurs when JUST BB and Retina are activated. The problem with BB goes away when I deactivate Retina. I tested it using the Watson theme (by Theme Foundry) and also the Twenty Sixteen theme. But prompted by your question, I just now also tested it using the Astra and GeneratePress themes and got the same glitch as before.
