WP Resolutions Breaks Site

  • Right after activating the plugin, my site returned a “500 Server Error”. I’ve done research, so I knew right away that the trouble was with the code added in the .htaccess file by the WP Resolutions plugin. I deleted that code, and re-saved the .htaccess file. My site came back on.

    I’ve read many other instances of this .htaccess code “breaking” other sites. Do you know why this occurs? Is there a way to get this plugin to be fully-functional?

  • I am very interested in this plugin, would be great to get this working properly.

    For now I can only confirm that it causes the “500 Server Error” as mentioned above.

    WP Resolutions is an altered form of Adaptive Images by Matt Wilcox. I don’t think it was designed for the PHP of WordPress.

    At any rate, Mr. Wilcox has a February 19, 2012 updated version (1.4) of Adaptive Images that is supposed to simplify the installation process to more of an Automatic Process.

    The developer of WP Resolution may not be aware of this. Maybe he can update his WordPress Plugin.

    Thanks, Shapeshifter 3. I actually came across Adaptive Images before I came across this WP Resolutions plugin. Unfortunately, when I added the .htaccess code to my .htaccess file, that’s when the 500 Error appeared. I can try this again, but I have a feeling that the same error will occur. Glad to know Adaptive Images has been updated!
