    Hi,

Yesterday I received an automated message from my WP installation:

Een fout van het type E_COMPILE_ERROR werd veroorzaakt op regelnummer 7 van het bestand /home/willibror/domains/willibrordusorgel.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/broken-link-checker/legacy/includes/modules.php. Foutmelding: require(): Failed opening required ‘module-manager.php’ (include_path=’/home/willibror/domains/willibrordusorgel.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/vendor/pear/archive_tar:/home/willibror/domains/willibrordusorgel.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/vendor/pear/console_getopt:/home/willibror/domains/willibrordusorgel.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/vendor/pear/pear-core-minimal/src:/home/willibror/domains/willibrordusorgel.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/vendor/pear/pear_exception:.:/opt/alt/php74/usr/share/pear’)

I do not know what it means, I expereince no problems, but it is strange to receive.

Waht is the problem? How can it be solved?

    Thanks, Frans

    Hi @fjvanittersum

I hope you’re well today and thank you for contacting us!

Based on the error itself it looks like either one of core plugin files (module-manager.php) is missing or corrupted from its expected location or there’s unexpected conflict with BackWPup plugin – but it’s not a know error and I can’t replicate this on my own test setup.

It may also be some issue with configuration that causes Broken Link Checker to look for the file in wrong location but let’s start with very simple thing first:

    1. please try deactivating BackWPup plugin first and see if the error still happens

    2. then try re-installing both plugins and see if error still happens with both of them enabled

and let us know about results. If above steps do not change anything at all, it would mean that the issue is elsewhere and we’ll see what to do next to pinpoint it. Otherwise we’ll dig into potential conflict between those two – so we could sort that completely.

    Kind regards,
    Adam

After this error, nothing happened. The website is OK, both front and backends. I discovered that BackupWP tries to make a weekly backup and fails, because of the lack of an password. I stopped the scheduled backups and will consider to remove the BackupWP plugin. For other purposes, I use Duplicator. Thanks ! I will return to you when the error returns.

    Hi @fjvanittersum

    Thank you for response!

It’s quite possible that the error didn’t really cause issues – sometimes such errors don’t really have an impact on how things work.

But yes – please do get back to us if/when error returns and we’ll assist you further.

    Best regards,
    Adam
