Hi, I’ve been using WP-QuickLaTeX for a while, and as far as I know using it correctly (image caching enabled… I’ve also just installed super cache). However now if I have the plug-in enabled my pages are blank and take about a year to load. Have I been blocked/am I doing something wrong?

    Best,
    Sam

    Hi,

Are you sure this is related to QL?
What happens if you disable it?

Have you deleted the QL cache recently?

It might take a while to re-generate all the formulas for the page if it has too many of them.

After initial re-generation page loading will become fast as before.

Your website is not blocked – something on your side I suppose.

Sorry for the delay, the notifications went to my spam folder. Disabling WP-QuickLaTeX immediately restores the website.

It’s not an issue simply with load times, the page simply doesn’t display. All I get is the title bar. Good to know that I’m not blocked though, I’ll keep poking around. Thanks,

    Sam

What PHP version do you use?

Version 7. QL cache is empty too

I have tried again and got this error message

    *** Error message:
Cannot connect to QuickLaTeX server: cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10001 milliseconds
Please make sure your server/PHP settings allow HTTP requests to external resources (“allow_url_fopen”, etc.)

I’ve not changed anything at my end, perhaps I’ll talk to my hosting company.

Please ask your hosting company. It looks like they have tightened up PHP configuration.

Had absolutely no help from my hosting company. They’ve just said to disable your plug-in to “fix” the problem. If you have any other suggestions I’d be happy to give them a try but I don’t know much about web stuff I’m afraid. If not, thanks anyway. This plug-in is so good (especially custom preambles and tikz support) I’d be more tempted to host elsewhere than use an inferior LaTeX plug-in.

I switched host, everything is fine now. This plug-in is so good, it deserves to be widely known and used. I’ve donated and added an acknowledgment to my site.

Thank you very much for your support and donation!

    HEY “tangentspace”
I found your comment about changing host interesting.
Can you get .htaccess, .user.ini; and php.ini so I/we can see what
setting is messing this thing up on Bluehost?

I changed to PHP v 7.1; I have also discovered that ‘QuickLatex’
    conflicts with ‘Insert Math’.
