WP Quick LaTeX stopped working

    WP QL has stopped working. I have little idea how to fault find, I wonder if anyone can help? I use it infrequently when adding diagrams with the latex tikz/schemabloc package, this has worked OK until “recently”. I cannot make any new diagrams. I don’t know when the plugin stopped working ??

    I am on WP4.9, multisite. Are there any known issues there?

    On some of my sites (they are user restricted so you cannot see, sorry) WP-QL is fine, using images from the ql-cache. If I try to make a new post, it does not work, and I get a standard “cannot compile, unknown error”, red box in place of the image.

    If I disable cache in plugin settings, then re-enable it, all pre-existing images then present the same error instead. ql-cache version is still present, but seems to be ignored? I guess an attempt to rebuild the image on the fly fails? Same if I disable and re-enable the plugin (which I had to do due to some unknown site failure on one site), cached images stop showing and show an “unknown error”.

    I am not sure (infrequent use) if my hosting settings have changed, I have enabled url_fopen (just reading some posts in this forum for ideas) and tried different php versions, but with no success, and no real idea what to try and why.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi,

    Do you host all the websites on one IP? What is it?
    Have you been using cache on all websites?

    If cache is disabled, then QL server must serve every little image for your websites on its own. This puts heavy load on QL server.

    Therefore, we block IP addresses where cache was continuously disabled for >6 months.

    Let me know IP address/domain names of your websites – we will enable them again. But please use the cache from now on.

    I host a small number of (multi) sites here, and only a subset of those have WP-QL. I don’t have a network setting, I run each independently with different configs. Cache seems to be running on most (I think all now). I had a major break on one of them, and have been trying to get it working properly Ihave no idea of the cause), so I cannot confirm the recent status of the WP-QL cache setting on it. It isn’t supposed to have many QL things to do, mainly I use MathJax to handle my LaTeX and WP-QL does a few diagrams, on a few pages.

    Please let me know if your suggestion turns out to be the case. I have turned cache on now I believe on all sites. If it was off, it would only have been by accident, this sort of issue does not seem very clear in the plugin interface/settings pages, and I’m sorry if it’s been loading your server.

    Now I noticed that my WP Quick LaTeX stopped working as well.

    I noticed that I had WP Supercache set to off. I turned it now on. But I had to temporarily deactivate WP QuickLatex – otherwis pages would not load.

    Has my domain been blocked?
