• This started a few months ago. My site crashes (my tables/posts) are completely empty.

When I run mysql database check/repair, I get the following message:

    admin_wrdp8.wp_posts
warning : Table is marked as crashed and last repair failed
warning : Size of datafile is: 203076496 Should be: 203076336
    error : Found 12394 keys of 0
    error : Corrupt

I “repair” and all is fine. It is crashing about 4x per week. Anyone seen this before?

    Joe

I would discuss this with hosting provider.

Thanks t-p, I have. I’m with Hostgator and they say it is a wordpress issue (and now I’m here :)).

-try deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to narrow down and possibly fix the problem. If the problem goes away, activate them individually to find the culprit.

-switching to the default theme (“twentyten”) for a moment by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes. The idea is to force WordPress to fall back to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific issue.

thanks t-p, been there, done that. I have (hopefully) now ruled out it being a plug-in issue. I haven’t tried the theme, but not willing to change that significantly and wait for days to fail, while being screwed up. The blog site gets several thousand uniques a day is is the heart of my business.
