I did my best to follow the Documentation’s Install Instructions. Unfortunately, some of the URLs don’t have an explanation as to what they are, so I’m just doing my best in guessing what a “Canvas Callback URL” is supposed to be.

I think I definitely have something wrong with my configuration, despite my efforts to read and follow the instructions carefully and view the example screenshots. I am getting warmer since my posts on WP do show up in the FB App, just not on my company FB Page.

Part of my frustration stems from the WPBook installation guide examples not matching the current “New App” settings pages in FB. For example, there is no “Canvas Callback URL” setting anymore. There is “Canvas Page” and “Canvas URL”.

MY OBJECTIVE: With the help of WPBook, I want new posts added via WordPress dashboard to simultaneously post to my company’s Page on Facebook (not my personal FB profile wall). I also want comments made on FB to be pulled into the WP post comments on my WP installation site.

ERROR: When I create a new post on WordPress, WordPress returns this error:
No post id returned from Facebook, $fb_response was /n and $fb_page_type was and $wpbook_description was test and $my_title was test

RESULT: The post DOES appear in the FB application I created as well as in my company’s website blog (WordPress installation site) but there is NO post on my company’s FB Wall, which is exactly why I’m doing this in the first place.

    URLs:
    Company facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/M4creative
    Facebook Application URL: https://apps.facebook.com/mfour-blog/
    WordPress Blog URL: https://www.m4.com/blog/
    My personal FB Profile: https://www.facebook.com/claytontycksen

Here are screenshots to my current WPBook configuration and Facebook App:
    Facebook “App – About” settings
Facebook “App – Web Site” settings
Facebook “App – Facebook Integration” settings
WPBook “Checking Permissions” page results (shows 404 error page)
    WPBook “Required Settings
    WPBook “Stream/Wall Options
    WPBook “Application View Options

    WPBook “Required Settings”
And it’s not clear whether in the WPBook Required Settings I should put my personal Facebook Profile ID there or the Page ID of my company. If I put my company’s Page ID here, however, the error goes away upon posting but the posts still don’t appear in my Company’s FB Wall.

I’m not positive but I think my company’s Page ID is 83488008722 and my personal Profile ID is 613436173.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I’m close, just missing something silly.

I think you may have a few problems. First remove the backslash in the WPBook Required settings so you’ll have mfour-blog as your canvas url. I think this is why you are seeing the 404. You MUST see the correct permission page (this one is a few versions old but the new one is VERY similar).

And it’s not clear whether in the WPBook Required Settings I should put my personal Facebook Profile ID there or the Page ID of my company.

You should have YOUR PERSONAL id in the required settings (as I think you do) Facebook requires a Human (not a company) to authorize and post to walls of pages.

I also want comments made on FB to be pulled into the WP post comments on my WP installation site.

Make sure you enter a day amount into the WPBook Stream/Wall settings. I suggest 3 days or so. The WPBook should run a cron and check for new comments each hour.

Thanks BandonRandon – That fixed it!

I removed the trailing slash in the Required Settings, and now the Permissions Page is showing up!

    RESULT:
New post created in WP Dashboard. Post shows in WP Blog, FB App, and my Company’s FB Page! No post on my personal page (what I wanted).

I created a comment on the test post in my company’s FB App. We’ll see if it pulls it. My guess is it only runs the cron job occasionally (at worst once a day) to pull comments. Hopefully it’s more often than once a day!

Thanks so much for your help. ??

@flyboym535i, For the record the cron job is being run every hour by default.
