WP Plugin Short codes don't work

Hi,
I am trying to use a WP plugin with adsense short codes and the ads don’t show up. I have tried using the free WP adsense theme in the past where you insert the adsense block code and they didn’t show up either. Is there something I need to do special? I do have WP super cache enabled and did not know whether or not that makes a difference. Thanks
