• I activated one of my GoDaddy hosting credits and had them install WP. Upgraded right away to 2.51 and added a few themes.

Problem is: none of the plugins I have installed have worked. These are: Audio player v1.2.3, TinyMCE Adanced v3.0.1, and Viper’s Video Quicktags v5.4.4. They show up under plugins and I can activate them but no effect or change happens. I have done the ctrl-shift-r and shift-r for my Firefox browser repeatedly but still nothing changes. Have tried the default theme no dice. The built in plugin works (Hello Dolly). Very sure the plugins are installed correctly, even had a GoDaddy tech say they looked ok.

    Anything help would be nice.

  • what do you expect to happen when you activate them? they dont just configure themselves and show up on your site magically. look at each plugins instructions. some add a new section to your admin. some are just little code snippets you add to a post or to your template, etc.

The plugins have been activated and configured, but no changes have occurred in the admin console, e.g. TinyMCE is supposed to add buttons to the edit panel and it doesn’t.

did you follow all these instructions for TinyMCE ?

    1. Download.
    2. Unzip.
    3. Upload to the plugins directory (wp-content/plugins).
    4. Activate the plugin.
    5. Set your preferences at “Manage – TinyMCE Advanced”.
    6. Clear your browser cache.

Yes, before trying to install unfamiliar software, I read the instructions. I repeated the steps more than a few times.

Patience. GoDaddy has a lag time to it. Install it and wait. Mine showed up in about 15 or 20 minutes after I stopped messing with it. And yes I cleared my cache FYI .htaccess changes are the same way.

Stilling no change. Any further advice ?

    Get anywhere with this?

I am having the same problem. I use ftp to tranfer the file to my wp plugins folder, but the plugins do not appear in wordpress on the manage plug-ins page. I am also with godaddy. I’d appreciate some help. thanks
