WP Plugin Manager Bug?

    Whenever I load a new plugin, such as the Random Banner plugin, that creates a new folder to be used by the plugin, the folder’s owner is “nobody” instead of my account on the server. This is a hugh problem because I can’t do anything with the directory if I need to. Most hosts will not allow you to run CHOWN to take ownership of a directory like that. So, I have to bother my host everytime I need to take ownership of the directory.

    Anyone have any thoughts or ideas about this? Am I missing something?

    It’s a known issue. Contact WPPM’s developer.

    I did…but I didn’t get a response. I guess they aren’t around at the moment. Plus, if it is a known issue, then I don’t have to worry about bothing them too much.

    You don’t really need the plugin manager. Plugins are pretty simple to install normally, just as are themes….

    I know. However, it is nice because it allows me to easly see when plugins have been updated. Maybe something link this will be incorprated in future versions of WordPress as a native function.

    Well, far as I’m concerned, the less “native functions” that get added the less likely things are to break.

    I just keep bookmarks of stuff I really like and cruise ’round them about once a month. And if the author of a plugin, say, has an email or “notify me of update” function, of course I use it.
