I have a site where Smush has been used to compress images. I’m moving to WP Optimize but because the images are showing as already compressed, I can’t select all images to compress again.

I have tested just one image, and even though Smush compressed it, WP Optimize reduced the file size by a further 60% so I know that even though they say they’ve been compressed, they still can be compressed further.

How do I bulk select these images again or do I have to do it them one at a time (there’s over 2,000 images so hoping not to do this.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

  • @sirrah You can click the button REstore all compressed images button from WP-Optimize > Images > Show Advanced option, please check this link for screenshot: https://prnt.sc/1z3kzyd

This will restore all the compressed images and show in the uncompressed list,

Then you can bulk select them from the list and compress it again.

Thanks – unfortunately that didn’t work. It only restored the images I’d compressed using wp-optimize, not the ones compressed using Smush.

@sirrah Sorry for the confusion, It will only restore the images compressed with WP-Optimize not with Smush.
