• I’ve been graciously receiving help in getting my blog installed. I was just shocked to discover it install … but it’s on my root directory https://www.xxx.com. I wanted it under my blog directory. How do I make this change?

Also, I want to upload a template to change the look. Can someone point me in the right direction on doing this? Thanks.

  • You need to create a /blog/ directory since you didn’t do it when you fixed the previous error. Re-upload to the /blog/ directory. If your server has phpmyadmin, go into your tables and update the URL to reflect the /blog/ directory.

Dave, thanks. I did have a blog directory. It was off of the root and that’s where all of my wp files were. If I put them back in the blog directory do you think it will it work this time? Also, I went to PHPadmin but I didn’t see where to include the blog directory. Can you tell me how to do that?

Your blog directory was in the wrong place before. It has to be in either the www or public_html directory (where ever your regular html files would be uploaded to). In the wp_options table, look for ‘siteurl’ and ‘home’ under option_name.

Dave I appreciate your help but this isn’t very clear to me. I didn’t see a option name. I did see the table “site url” and in edit I saw a “name” field. Could you give ma a step-by-step on what specific steps to take to make this change?

On the final step I have I should make the option id value 100, the option type 3 and I assume in the option value put in https://www.scoremoreclients.com/blog

Is that correct? If so, does this mean that if I type in that url I should then be able to see my blog there?

Don’t worry about the rest of the data, just change your url, but DON’T forget to put the https:// part!
Then roll down and hit the Save button.
