• Heads up to all wp-o-matic users hoping for fixes and the new release. Looks like the owner is selling wpomatic.

    https://flippa.com/auctions/89380/WP-o-Matic-Wordpress-RSS-aggregator-plugin

Figures as he obviously doesn’t have the time for it, support and updates have been non existent over the past year and numerous bugs remain unfixed. Cant blame him and thanks for providing a great plugin.

Lost count of how many ‘new wpomatic is being released in a few days’ posts I’ve read on twitter. Shame as thousands use this great plugin.

So this will likely become a paid for plugin as I dont see anyone giving it away if its cost them up to 60k.

Lets hope someone can take it on and realise its true potential. In the mean time I’m on the look out for an alternative.

So any suggestions are most welcome. ??

Well that’s a shame. I’ve been waiting on this new release for close to a year now. I’ve been using wp-lifestream in the meantime, and while it’s a good plugin, it doesn’t provide the flexibility nor ease of use I’d like (not the Dev’s fault – my uses are different than his goals I think).

I’d love to see someone take it on, but in all honesty, there’s no way it’ll go for anywhere close to 60,000, especially given the lack of activity of late. I’d gladly pay for a good plugin to meet my needs, so hopefully someone will create one.

Thanks for posting that link, I had no idea.

Yes I agree its a real shame. I only found out the news after searching for wpomatic on twitter and saw a post about the sale.

I’ve was hoping to find details of the new release, its been promised to be coming soon many times for a year now. Great plug-in but has a severe duplicate post bug. Having to manually remove duplicate posts kinda removes the autonomy of it so defeats the object for a lot of people.

I also can’t see it making $60k, especially if it needs work. I’d also happily pay a few bucks for a working (and supported) version.

I’m sure if the developer could dedicate some time to this plug-in and iron out the problems then a lot of people would happily pay $5-10 for it. Sure he could do very well (on the side of his main work) if he’s getting thousands of downloads a month.

Anybody got a suggestion for an alternative plug-in? been looking for a while now.

    dd;)

I’ve been developing with this plugin. I believe I’ve licked the duplicate posts bug.
I’ve made some site specific changes, so I can’t do a straight diff. In a couple more days, I should have clear data on the duplicate bug.

Are there any other bugs that people have found that I can iron out while I’m at it?

The only other bug I have is that the Wp-Omatic stats that you normaly see in the dashboard, appears on my forums and group pages.

I think it has something to do with the header.

I would provide a screeny, but Photobucket is down right now. But there is another thread here in the WP-O-Matic forum with someone else having the same issue.

    Hi elizabeth,

thanks for the work you’re putting into fixing this duplication issue, I’ve had to cease from using the plug-in until its fixed.

I’ll look forward to the release,

    thanks

Hi, I’m having a problem with my rss feed, the fetch works fine with Word Press but the actual cron job fails with this message “curl: (6) Couldn’t resolve host ‘wp-o-matic'”. I think the problem is with my wp-o-matic cron command under the options. initially I posted the command from Word Press as was given:

    Unix cron
    Cron command:
    */20 * * * * /usr/bin/curl https://quickfixweightlossdiets.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-o-matic/cron.php?code=xxxxxxxx

    WebCron-ready URL:
    https://quickfixweightlossdiets.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-o-matic/cron.php?code=xxxxxxxx

I think the cron command characters at the beginning “*/20 * * * * /” should be removed in order to make it work but there’s no way of editing it. Does anyone know how to edit the cron command code.

    Please reply urgent,
    Thanks Phildazz at [email protected]

wp-o-matic just quit working on a site a few weeks or so ago. I don’t remember if it was after updating it specifically but it was after selecting a bunch of updates that may have included it. Now all links within wp-o-matic like campaigns take me right back to the dashboard.

The “visit plugin site” link it gives me is broken too. I’ve tried un-installing and re-installing, and selectively disabling other plugins to try to find out what broke it, but I’m thinking it’s wp-o-matic now. It was a good plugin.

WPeMatico is comming A new project like WP-o-Matic.
I take only the title of every post for check duplicates, but I can make this more complicated. Very very soon I will upload the first beta release
