Geetings, I am beginning to put together a WP blog. I have been coding websites for many years, although I am not very good at it.

Anyway I have some elements of a theme I would like to change. (the theme is a modified twentyeleven).

    Site is found at: pestproeci.com/bugblog/

my first issue is the menu bar “home” and “about us.” I would like to modify those colors (the background of the search box, the background of the bar as well.)

Where would I find the stored Hex for that?

Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme. It is the default WordPress theme and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues. First create a child theme for your changes.

Actually I made a duplicate of the whole theme, copied the whole folder in my host. I am just now looking into child themes, but any idea about question from the first post?

Everything is in the theme’s single stylesheet. Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS work.

Child Theme installed. Deleted the now modified twentlyeleven and re-installed a fresh copy.
