WP Multisite Network subsite categories sitemap

Hi, I have WP MULTISITE NETWORK. All site maps on primary and subsites are ok except the “category” sitemap always gives a 404 Not found error. I applied this for Apache https://kb.yoast.com/kb/my-sitemap-index-is-giving-a-404-error-what-should-i-do/ but did not work. Does this Apache rewrite code need to be adjusted for MULTISITE NETWORK WP installs? How can we get all sitemaps to show including “categories” on all subsites?

Is there a special tweak to that .htaccess code (found in the link above for Apache) for multisite or any other info that would fix this?
