• Beyond the standard installation instructions, I wish there was step by step information on how to set up Multi-Network. So I am operating in the dark here and need some help.

    I am using sub-directories.

I want mydomain.com/State/city/category/subcategory to be my structure.
I am having trouble figuring out whether to make changes in Network Admin or Admin, or probably both, but which first and exactly how.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

  • You are not alone. I am feeling lost too. When I create a new network I am getting a 404 not found error. I too would appreciate a step by step information.

Can I create a network by simply entering any path? Where do I create sites for the new network?

    Me too.

I entered into this forum because when I was looking for the plugin to enable multisites I ran across this plugin WP Multi Network and was wondering what the difference was.

I have yet to use the WP Multi Network plugin but am wondering if you all are as green as me and are trying to use the WP Multi Network plugin without using the enable multisites first?

Just a thought and if I sound stupid it’s probably cause when it comes to these things I am. But no one else was answering so – it was just a thought.

The plug is out-dated, but there is good news. The developer, John James Jacoby (bbPress, Buddypress, etc.), reports that “a freshened-up version of WP Multi Network” is actively being developed and is to be released “in a few days.”

Jacoby commented on Alan Tait‘s fix post “WP Multi-Network Plugin Fix for WordPress” in February 2012.

For the brave, there is also this interesting workaround from Guillermo Humberto Vera Amaro.
