WP Migrate Lite stalls at Migrating media files…

It finally reported “Migration Failed” at 36:21.

Would you be able to send the debugging information from the Help tab on the site you’re having trouble with? You may remove any sensitive info.

1. Go to the Help tab of your install
2. Scroll down to the “Diagnostic Info & Error Log”
3. Copy the content and paste it here, or share the URL if you’ve uploaded the content somewhere

You may also enable WP_DEBUG before trying another migration, to see if any relevant info is added to the /wp-content/debug.log file.

If I uncheck Media Files the migration picks up Themes & Plugins, then hangs on Other Files (0% (0.00?B?/?15.86?GB)), finally failing at 0:46:56.

Hi @dbisupport, thanks for your quick response last night. I am picking up where I left off. Today I am trying to migrate a site that’s a subsite of the main one, i.e., it’s rooted at public_html/example.com; this is GoDaddy’s way. I freshly installed your plugin to that site and am getting a permissions error. I have changed permissions to 775 on wp-content/uploads and all subdirectories but the error persists, even if I deactivate and reactivate the plugin. I can’t believe it should be necessary to grant world permissions.

Looking back, I do see fileperms() errors in debug.log, but they do not continue with permissions set to 775. I don’t know why the plugin doesn’t see the change.

This info would help us in trying to debug your issue.
Also, with the fileperms() error, would you please try temporarily disabling any security plugins or settings that you may have in your site, and see if this helps with the issue.

Sorry for butting in, but I’m experiencing this issue – has you found a resolution?

No resolution. In this (GoDaddy) case I resorted to old school sftp and database dumps.

Last week, on a smaller, non-GoDaddy site, I spent an entire afternoon trying to use this plugin to export virtually every combination of Media, Database, Core Files, blah blah. The export completed each time and I dutifully downloaded it, but the plugin never once produced a zip file that LocalWP knew how to import. All this talk of simplicity is false. Wasted half a day and cannot in good conscience bill my client for that time.

No, thank you. I abandoned WPMigrate as a solution for working with this site. Raw database imports were much more reliable.
