WP-Members Login widget displays ‘username’ native field

The WP-Members Login widget displays the native ‘username’ field, rather than the ‘display_name’ field.
Should it not display the display_name instead, which would allow either the user’s username, first name, last name, first/last, or last/first, or nickname to be displayed, as per the backend preference?
