• Hi there,

I have been using the WP members plugin for around a year and it has been working fine. At some point in the last few days the plugin has stopped working correctly. Essentially you cant type or edit text in the user name and password fields on the log in page.
Has anyone encountered this before and can offer assistance?

    Thanks

    Joe

There have been no changes in the plugin recently, so unless you recently updated from an older version (i.e. “in the last few days”), then it’s not likely the plugin.

What has changed or been updated on the site recently? That would be the place to start.

    Thanks Chad.
I’ve reverted to a website version from a week ago where it was working.

But my WP plugin menu is saying that I have an update available for WP Members and WP members advanced options.
Im on 3.1.9.2 and 1.5.2 respectively.
Could that have been the cause? When I updated those?
    Thanks

It’s unlikely to be one of those. It’s actually unlikely to be related to the plugin at all. Take a look at your contact form, as it has the same problem.

I removed all CSS and the problem persists so it isn’t a CSS issue.

I loaded the site with JavaScript disabled and then the forms work, so it appears that you’ve got something in a script somewhere that is the source of the problem.

Isolating the JS as the issue, if you load it without the following script, it works:

    <script type="text/javascript">var wprmenu = {"zooming":"yes","from_width":"768","push_width":"","menu_width":"80","parent_click":"","swipe":"yes"};</script>

This appears to be associated with the WP Responsive Menu plugin. Is it actually part of the plugin? I don’t know – I don’t have any working knowledge of that. Also, it looks like you’re using Autoptimize which condenses code/script/css so it could have something to do with how that script gets handled. I don’t know exactly what the issue is, but I’d suggest looking into testing without those two elements.

    hi there;
I’m autoptimize’s developer and have this quick tip to share: simply add ?ao_noptimize=1 to the URL to disable AO for that request.

hope this helps in debugging ??

    Thanks both.
I’ll get our web developers to check it out.
