WP Mail SMTP (Mailgun setup) not sending to @gmail addresses

  • My membership site sends out admin emails. I use the Mailgun setup with WP Mail SMTP.

    I notice that emails to @gmail.com addresses don’t get passed on to Mailgun. When I check in WP Mail Logging, I see the email there and, when I choose their Resend option, it does then get sent to Mailgun.

    It sometimes happens with @mac.com, @me.com etc, and with @outlook addresses.

    Am I missing something in settings?

    Hi John,

    Thanks for reaching out! Could you please check the WP Mail SMTP -> Tools -> Debug Events section and see if you can find any errors.

    Then, please check your Maulgun suppressions list, and see if you can find those email addresses.

    Usually, Mailgun will add your bounced email addresses to the suppressions list and you can remove those emails if you want to send them again.

    Thanks, Darshana. I do check Debug events, but hadn’t thought to check Maligns’ Supressions list.

    I will wait for the next @gmail recipient to be sent an email and monitor it.
