• The ‘reply-to’ email field from WP generated emails contains our business name followed by a semi colon, followed by “charset+UTF-8”. The email therefore looks like this:

    Reply-To: Our Business Name ; charset+UTF-8

“Our Business name ; charset+UTF-8” appears as one highlighted field, which when clicked using the down arrow actually shows our correct business email address

However, when the customer clicks on reply to email, the same error shows in the “To” field for the outgoing email

Scratching my head here. Any ideas what is going on and how to fix?

The default From: address for WP sites is WordPress <[email protected]>. It’s constructed by extracting the domain name from the site URL setting. The default is filterable so it is easily changed to something else with a little coding. Apparently your theme or a plugin is doing this for you, but not doing it quite right. You should seek assistance through the dedicated support channel of the responsible module.

If you are able to do a little coding, it’s usually possible to override the override by hooking the same filters with a later priority argument.
