wp-login.php produces error with no user info and OpenID fails

  • OpenID login was working fine. I am using WP3.3.2 and OpenID 3.3.3

    When I tried to log in today via OpenID I received a “ERROR: Invalid username or incorrect password.” message. I check all and dumped cache but it would not work. I then tried to try using the built in OpenID service. This time is don;t get an error message, I just get the message that I am not registered.

    I eventually also noticed that when I just pull the wp-login.php I also get the invalid username or password error, even though I have not supplied any credentials.

    However, I can log in using my regular username and password.

    I have tried turning delegation on and off, as well as turning local OpenID on and off, but I think I may now be so muddled that I am just making things worse.

    Why would clicking on the login link result in a bad credential error and why isn;t OpenID working at all/
