• My server sent me this message but I have no idea why or what the uploaed code does. I’m not aware of any changes being made:

    Below are the recently upload scripts that contain code to send email. You may wish to inspect them to ensure they are not sending out SPAM.

    /home/esinem/public_html/wp-login.php:244: 	if ( $message && !wp_mail($user_email, $title, $message) )
    /home/esinem/public_html/wp-login.php:245: 		wp_die( __('The e-mail could not be sent.') . "\n" . __('Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function...') );
    /home/esinem/public_html/wp-login.php:246:

    Can anyone tell me what’s going on here?

  • Nothing. That’s code from an untouched wp-login.php file.

    Thanks. Weird. What would have caused that message? I re-uploaded the file in case the message was a red herring caused by some attempt to alter it. However, it did seem the same size.

    I’ve no idea where that message came from but I do know it’s not coming from WordPress core. Have you asked your hosts about it?
