/wp-login.php – cannot login just on my computer!

  • Hello!
    Having a strange problem..
    I cannot log into my wordpress.. I put in all the correct details and it stalls out, then I get blocked from the site entirely for about 15 – or 20 minutes.

    BUT
    I am able to login to wordpress / access the site from my phone (running off a seperate 3g network) or goto a place like Starbucks and use their internet ETC…

    Is my IP somehow blocked?

    I called my host and they said my IP wasn’t..
    Did some security feature change?

  • Yes, this is probably due to your host blocking logins due to massive attacks on servers – see:

    thank you for the help –
    I can indeed still login and access my FTP though…
    And as I said, can login at every other internet connection except my home one..

    what would be the next step / best course of action someone could recommend?

    Called my host (1and1.com)
    They claim my IP has not been blocked…
    But I still cannot access my WordPress backend.

    Is there a way WordPress blocked me from logging into my IP, not my host?

    No, WordPress has no connection to your site. Have you tried clearing your browser cache, cookies and tried another browser?

    If you can login on a different ISP, that sounds like a ISP or local network issue.
