Here’s what happens. I’m working on a post in the administrative area. I hit SAVE DRAFT. The draft is aved, and then it disappears. The word count shows there is text present, but the box itself is blank. If I try to do anything about it, I get one of those “Your work may not be saved if you leave the page” messages. It makes no difference whether I click on Stay on Page or Leave This Page. It’s gone.

What would cause this, and what can i do about it?

okay, now it’s happening on my brand-new iMac desktop, as well. Why is this happening and what can I do to stop it?

Wow, that sounds frustrating! I’ve no idea except perhaps ask what browser you’re using?

Frustrating? You have NO idea! *laughing* I’m using the most recent versions of Firefox.

I was hoping you were going to say some rare or old. But I run the latest FF too and don’t have this problem.

The next thing people say on this forum (kind of like the switch it off and back on again advice you get with PCs) is to deactivate all plugins and see if that makes any difference. If so, switch them back on again one at a time until you find the culprit.

Apols. Don’t know what else to suggest.

Thanks for trying. I thought I solved the problem when I turned off WP proofreading. Alas, it just bit me again. For the time being, I’m writing all my posts in the cloud and maintaining them there until ready to go, then just copy-and-paste into WP and publish.

    Have you tried
    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
