WP integration with Ruby on Rails

  • If we have a departmental website that runs on ruby on rails, can we install a WP microsite to the same server? Will installing WP to the same server cause any interference or conflict with the main departmental site in any way?

    Example: Main site is department.edu–built in Ruby on Rails; can we have department.edu/microsite, the microsite being a WP site running on the same server?

    2. It shouldn’t do

    As long as the microsite is a separate directory,no problem.Just make sure your new directory contains an .htaccess file [default but installation can miss it] and a php.ini file even if it is blank in content.

    Can you guide me step by step on how to do that? I tried putting it in a public folder on one of the rails app, and it worked intermittently. Some paths result in routing errors.
