WP installed on HostGator doesn’t work

I’ve installed WP on “www.Easy-Plan-B.com/WordPress” but when I login I see a directory listing, not the dashboard and when I ‘view the site’ I get a blank screen. I’ve edited the default start-post but the original start post keeps showing up when I click the ‘index.php’ in ‘wp-admin’
I’ve started over and installed WP in the root-directory to no avail so deleted it again and reinstalled in ‘WordPress’
Saw something in ‘help’ that suggested going to cPanel ‘Web Preferences’ and adding ‘index.php’ but can’t find ‘Web Prefs’ in cPanel
What do I do next, coach?
