wp install error on upon entering install.php
-
I’ve done everything in the detailed guide but I can’t access the install.php file in my browser. I could access the server with the local ip (xx.xx.xx.xx) before I moved all of the wp files there, and it showed the apache2_default “it works!” message. I moved all the files to the root dir of my server and deleted the apache2_default files and dir, and tried to access the install.php file when I got the following:
Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at DB_HOST. This could mean your host’s database server is down.
* Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
* Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
* Are you sure that the database server is running? If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.
I’ve never been able to access the server by just typing localhost in the address bar, but when I type the local ip now I get the following:
Error establishing a database connection
I think I typed the password wrong in Step 2 under ‘Using the mysql client’ (the password value, that is), so how can I change this? I might be wrong, but it’s worth the double-check.
Another thing that might be wrong is that I typed localhost as the value for hostname in the same step under ‘Using the mysql client’, when I probably should’ve typed the local ip (xx.xx.xx.xx), right?
So how do I repeat that step?
Thanks a lot for help ??
