WP images not showing when in ‘visit site’ but showing in the customizer

I migrated my site from a live one (it’s still live) to a wp installation on localhost to do some customization (so the link attached here is not the one I need help with).

The live site is working properly, but the one I migrated to localhost is not showing the images (but it shows videos – ?).

And oddly enough, the images are only not showing when I go to ‘visit site’, but they are there when I open the customizer (in Appearance -> customize). Naturally, all the media files are present in the media section, and the links have been correctly renamed according to the localhost URL.

I am not very interested in images showing on the localhost website, but I am afraid I will face the same problem when I eventually migrate the site to its final hosting destination.

So any insight into why images show on customizer but not on ‘visit site’ will be very helpful.
