WP https on multisite issue

  • I have this plugin on a multisite
    On the active site the check-box for activating https in the admin area is checked but locket so i cant uncheck it.
    why is that so ? i know for a fact this plugin takes a lot of resources and slows down the site ..
    so i tried to deactivate the plugin and the whole site collapses …db and pages…i had to restore the site from a beck up

    my questions are
    1. is it a problem to deactivate the plugin and remove it all together ?
    2. why are the settings of the plugin ..specially the check boxes don’t function right ..on one site even when its unchecked the https is shown in admin and on anther site i cant even uncheck it?
