WP Hide & Security New Login url doesn’t work it just sends everyone to 404

  • Hi! I installed your plugin on my WordPress-hosted site. I changed the login url to https://thomashenryhoran.com/member_login but it just sends everyone to 404 error. If I manually type in the old link https://thomashenryhoran.com/login it works fine. Is there some other step besides just editing and saving the login url in the plugin? I tried refreshing permalinks, but no go. I also tried with WPS Hide Login plugin but got the same result. I don’t even care about changing the login url. It doesn’t stop anything but grade school kids. But, some PMPro members were having trouble logging in and I found a suggestion that changing the login url would help. But changing the url doesn’t work somehow.

    Hi,
    That should work just fine, can you append an .php to the custom login slug ?
    If still does not make a fix for you, try to disable other plugins to ensure there is no conflict with any code. Also clear the site caches, including CDN or any other service you may use.

    If still no joy, there might be something on your server environment that prevents the custom login URL rewrite to run correctly. Try to get in touch with the server support as they should know better about that.
