• Hey guys, got an odd situation here. My blog at https://www.adamsmash.com is not allowing me to see my dashboard, or anything for that matter beyond the point where I log in. I enter my username and password and the browser goes white and sits there, the little loading bar in the bottom gets to about halfway and stops. I let it sit for about 20 minutes once and never got a 404 error or anything. I can view the site fine by going to the URL, I just can’t seem to log in to post or make any changes.
I have reset my password, but that did not work. That’s what gets me, other admin functions work, such as the “lost password” link to reset etc. I even tried entering my old password after I reset, and it’ll tell me the password is wrong, so it appears to not be a login issue as the password was successfully changed. I don’t have any other usernames to try as this is my personal blog. I’ve tried it from different PCs different networks and different browsers. I’d love to tell you what version I have, but I can’t get into the admin page to see! ?? Any ideas?

  • Are you able to get to https://www.adamsmash.com/wp-admin/edit.php directly?

    Is your browser rejecting cookies?

When I paste that link into a browser, it comes back to the login screen. I login, same thing, a freeze. So, after I have logged in, I try pasting again, still a freeze. And my browser is not rejecting cookies that I know of, and I have tried this on several PCs on different networks in IE, Firefox and Safari. It’s got me royally confused. ??

OH I did finally get some new error now. Instead of just sitting there, it finally gave me “CGI Timeout
The specified CGI application exceeded the allowed time for processing. The server has deleted the process.” IS that something with my server or what?

Sounds like a server “thing.” Are you able to see your web server’s error logs? Might be worth looking at ’em — and perhaps time to contact your host.
