I would like to use my WP for selling handcrafted goods. I am told I should have a WEBSITE; however, I know WP is powerful. Is there not a way to make it function similar to a website; i.e., static I think is the term. Then there’s the e-commerce/shopping cart situation (I have Pay Pal) so I am thinking that should not be a problem, but not sure how to advance.

Isn’t there a plug-in or something that disengages the date that shows up on individual posts?

    Thank you.

  • WordPress isn’t just for blogging. It can also be used to create “standard” web sites and ecommerce sites. All you need is an ecommerce plugin that suits your needs and a theme that you like.

I agree. WP can definitely accommodate your ecommerce biz.

Also, I wanted to comment on your static point. Although you may have some pages not change an awful lot, what may help drive traffic, customers, sales, etc… would be dynamic content. So having a section (whether you call it a blog or insights or tips) that’s fresh could be a big benefit to you.
