Wp Fastest Cache stopped working

After updating WordPress to 4.8.2 from 4.7.6 and also updating WP Fastest Cache to 0.8.7.3 the statement at the bottom of pages no longer appears: “WP Fastest Cache file was created…”
I tried deleting the cache and it did rebuild – the cache directory has files and if I look at the index.html pages in the cache folders, they do have the statement. However, from the browser there is no statement at the bottom of pages.

I saw the solution for other sites with this problem had to do with https redirection but we are not using https.
