WP Emoji Disable not working

I’ve read several posts on here and around the web on disabling this annoying .js file. However, I’m having no luck getting rid of the WP Emoji JS file in my header. I’ve installed the Disable Emojis Plugin AND I have pasted the following into my functions.php file:

// REMOVE EMOJI ICONS
remove_action('wp_head', 'print_emoji_detection_script', 7);
remove_action('wp_print_styles', 'print_emoji_styles');

As you can see though, it’s still showing up in my Timeline and in the Code itself… any ideas what’s going on here?
