WP Editor not saving

  • I’ve checked Tabel IX B 3 – Use WP editor. Using WP Photo Album plus 7.3.01.007.

    When editing an album- or photo description the tinymce editor shows up as expected. However when editing in Visual mode changes are not being saved. When editing in Text mode changes are saved but new lines are ignored.

    No errors in logfiles or console. I’ve tried on several websites on different servers also with a clean WordPress install using Twenty Twenty theme and no other plugins.

    Does anyone else experience the same problem? Any suggestions?

    To preserve linebreaks, select Linebreaks only in Table IV-B11: Run nl2br or wpautop on description

    Thank you. Line breaks are now preserved on the output.

    However no changes are preserved when editing and saving with the Visual editor. I see an Ajax spinner when saving and also a success notice “Beschrijving van foto 665 bijgewerkt” and no errors in console. You (or anyone) cannot reproduce this?

    Yes, i can reproduce this, but i can not find what is wrong.
    The same code works for me for the album description, so …???

    I hate to disappoint you folks, but using the WP editor, I could rename a description of an album (then press “Update Album description”) and it then shows in my site. IOW, the editor works [for me]
    I’m using Database revision: 7302. WP Charset: UTF-8. WPPA+ API Version: 7.3.02.007, but not the latest theme 2020, I’m still on 2017

    True. The editor for the Album description works fine. The editor for the Photo description however doesn’t.

    AH. Went and checked the photo description on my site and -though it *looks* to work at first sight- it doesn’t actually do anything [other than messing up the description HTML with several newlines] ??
    After switching to “Text” mode “Update Photo description” works.
    Sorry, folks, I thought I had found a grain of hope…

    I did a little deeper investigation, and it appears that the ‘new’ decription content pulled out of the editor to send to the server, is in fact the ‘old’ content, sot it is updating the description with the content already there.
    To me it is a tinymce bug.

    I am afraid that i have to disable the tinymce editor, when it is useless anyway…
