• hi
i installed the wp-commerce plugin because i am trying out a few plugins until i pick the best one for my needs, i installed it and checked it out and then decided to uninstall it. after uninstalling, i noticed many pages still left like ‘checkout’ and ‘transaction details’ but i just manually deleted them all from admin> pages>.

however, upon seeing my sql database there are 20 extra tables, and they are all linked to the wp-commerce plugin. shall i just go ahead and delete these abandoned tables too?

PS: what IS the best shopping plugin???????

  • just delete em, that what I did. Didn’t hurt anything.
(of course backing up the DB before making any changes is always as a good idea)

I actually use that plugin for my shop. It was a bit hard to get configured…..but it works well I guess

RV, i just installed it but its kinda daunting with all these new pages etc. do u think its a good pluginfor a first timer?

any TOTALLY free ones about? i dont want to have to pay for something i know im months away from actually receiving orders from.

I am using the e-commerce plugin without any of the paid upgrades. It works fine as is. I never had a problem with the functionality portion of it (aside from needing to reset my permalinks a couple of times)

It was just messing around with the css to get a decent look that was time consuming.

I had no real experience to speak of when I installed it…..it did take a couple of hours for me to get a real understanding of how it actually worked.

    RVoodoo, thanks again
ive decided to go with wp-ecommerce, ive got the hang of it and have created some products, however, when i a product link in my sidebar widget, it takes me to an error 404.

is this something to do with permalinks?

I did have some permalinks issues here and there with wp-ecommerce

Simply resetting permalinks worked for me.
Save to default (possibly delete .htaccess if its being stubborn) then set back to custom

ive never had a .htaccess file, also, i have the ? symbol in my product titles, could this ? have anything to do with the error 404, because the permalinks links look all messy with this

I have no idea about the trademark symbol…..I guess experiment. Set up a product without the symbol and see if that works fine
