what version did you upgrade and how long where you running on that version?

There may be the possibility that debug.log and error.log may show timeouts related to the upgrade cleanup of the wpsc_visitors table. if you have a slow server and have many records in that table, it can take quite a while to clean that out automatically. if your server is slow, and you are running the default WordPress cron, it could explain the issue after upgrading.

without access to the server it is going to be difficult to diagnose the server problem.

I upgraded to WordPress 4.1.1 and WPecommerce to version 3.9.1. The developer who set the site up originally added an automatic update system so the programs would update as soon as one was available. I’ve been using wordpress for several years with no issues until now. The site ran slow as soon as the update had happened. I’ve asked the third person who controls the server and he has confirmed the server is running absolutely fine with no speed issues. I’ll ask them again to see if I can get the information you need.

    Hi Jeff,

I had a word with the third party who controls the server and he asked if you can give any instructions to retrieve the logs you require. My site is hosted on a windows IIS7.5 server (not Apache).

    Jeff,

I don’t know if this information helps.

The first two notices are a little odd, you should find the cause.

Tha has_cap and add_contextual_help notices should be resolved by updating your theme or plugin.

If it were my site that last notice would definitely concern me. If something is wrong with sessions it could have unknown reliability and performance impacts.

Jeff, Thanks for getting back to me. Any ideas where I should start looking first.

the code causing the failure is shown in the log file,

    for example:
    C:\inetpub\wwwroot\WordPressSites\OfficeRequirements.com\wp-includes\functions.php on line 3378
