• The WP E-Commerce Plugin Documentation is severely lacking. After loading the plugin every page I requested to see was replaced with the “Product Page” instead of the Page I requested. In the URL I can see the name of the page I requested BUT what was being displayed was the “Product Page” with the message “No Products Found”. No documentation to say why this was happening.

I de-activated the Plugin and then tested the website again. Now I couldn’t get off of the Home Page, no matter what I requested from the menu.

Then I deleted the Plugin altogether and still couldn’t get off of the Home Page.

Then I went back to see what files were still left around by the Plugin. I found the “Product Page” was still in existence. So I sent the “Product Page” to the Trash.

I went back to re-test the website and NOW the website was again functioning.

Don’t understand how more than one million downloads have occurred and I experienced these bazaar problems. Didn’t anyone else???

  • I installed this today on WP version 3.1.2 and i have had exactly the same problem.

Following your advice on removing the ‘Product Page’ stuff and all is ok now with the plugin deactivated.

So how can i use this plugin without it destroying my site? Very disconcerting :/

Is there any support for this?? It seems the developers dont care so much. This is a major problem and does not allow me to try out the plugin before considering to buy the gold cart. I guess i will not get the opportunity.

I have the same problem, but with wp e-commerce lastest version. I had the older plugin installed, but not activated. When I was notified there is an update, I “updated”, then activated to see what it looked like. All my content showed up as product pages. The permalinks were the correct, the contents was right, except the post title was “Products Page”, and everything looked a little off styling wise, most notably the main blog posts page. also static pages I had short code for pinting etc, no longer had the print showing. I deactivated wp e-commerce, still all hosed up. I had to do the same, go in, detete the WPSC tables from the data base, delete all files folders created by the plug in. Then it was back ok. So, I can’t use the new version of WP e-commerce with out crashing the site.

Same here, what everybody else said . . .

Update: I deleted all the pages and still can’t get off my homepage. Sent to trash>deleted permanently. No my site is completely messed up. Yeah, WTF with this?!?!?

Update2: I needed to change my permalinks to something else, save, then change them back to what I had. Now its back to normal.
