    Hi,

I’m using WP-dTree 3.5 for pages and categories on https://www.worcestershirebus.info

The site contains 23 pages, only 12 of which I wanted to display in navigation.

WP-dTree pages widget was working for this then yesterday, it started only showing 4 links in the pages widget, and not 12.

I removed the sidebar widget, and replaced it, emptied caches on 4 browsers and tried again but 8 pages were missing.

The WP-dTree categories widget was still perfect, however, compressing 331 categories into 7 top level links.

I found the solution but thought it was best to post here in case others have the same problem.

The solution turned out to be a lot simpler than I thought.

I went into WP-dTree settings, and just changed the page order from ‘sort by menu order’ to ‘sort by title’

I looked at my site and all 12 links had returned. I then changed my page order back to ‘sort by menu order’ and everything is back to normal.

I have no idea why this happened as I made no changes to my site that could conflict with WP-dTree. Maybe the plugin’s creator has the answer.

I’m just grateful it’s working again as my site could not work without this plugin (not without a long list of 331 categories…)

    ** UPDATE **

After an email from Ulf (WP-dTree creator) who said it was probably a conflict between plugins, I noticed that the 4 links WP-dTree did pick up were not any 4 at random, they happened to be the 4 that are listed in the header so it is definitely a conflict with the plug in ‘Exclude Pages from Navigation’ by Simon Wheatley (as this excludes all but those 4 same links from the top navigation bar)

Unfortunately I know of no other way to keep the number of header links down to 4 (any more ruins my design)

As this bug is occasional, I’ll live with it but if it ever gets worse I can always put my pages as links in a text or links widget (or just refresh the page order as mentioned above).

I absolutely cannot do without WP-dTree’s handling of my 331 categories.

Someone with more expertise may be able to give a more detailed explanation.

Do not let this occasional conflict put you off either of these two plugins as they are both FANTASTIC and work perfectly together 99.999% of the time.

    S.

i have a problem too, my links are not being displayed, also not after changing the sort order, https://www.climatesceptics.org under campaigns it remains empty ??
