WP debug error “Trying to access array offset on value of type null”

    Hi,
    when I activate WP debug, I see a list of errors in my sidebar where Collapsing Categories is active:

    NOTICE: TRYING TO ACCESS ARRAY OFFSET ON VALUE OF TYPE NULL IN …. COLLAPSTCATLIST.PHP ON LINE 225

    If I switch off debug it still works fine, but from some research I did online I surmise that it is a programming error that newer PHP versions no longer accept, and therefore report to debug.

    Can this be fixed?

  • I am also having this issue. I suspect @ispacecrusader is correct about the PHP versions, because I cloned the site (for other reasons) onto a server with an older version of PHP, and the plugin still works fine, but when I look at the server with the newer version of PHP, I get the error listed above.

    I hope this will be fixed in a near-future version!
