WP Database Error…Have I been hacked?

    Hey everyone,

    I came into work this morning to find our company site/blog not working. “Error establishing a database connection” is what we have on our index page. My cPanel is not accepting the correct password. Have I been hacked?!

  • There’s something wrong with the config.php in your WP root. Can you FTP to your server (or use control panel) to see if it’s still there?

    I just regained control of my cpanel… first thing i have done is taken a look at wp-config.php and everything looks in order. Still tryingto figure this out…

    I just foud out that MySQL installation on my host’s machine is down for all users on my partition…. looks like I know the problem now!

    Problem resolved….. Now i just to need to learn how to lock WP down!
