I am an absolute beginner and want to design a very simple website with some member data of our club. To do that, I have created 5 tables, each with one sample entry. All of these table are visible in “Designer” – but not in “Table Builder”. There I can find only one of my tables. As far as I know, that is the menu item where I can create a “shortcode” in order to display the table content on my website. Even worse, the shortcode included in my website does not show the sample entry of my table.

To give you some details: WIN11 Desktop PC with WAMP64, MySql, everything at the latest version.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @waukn,

Do you see the tables you created in the Data Explorer?

If yes, the next step would be to create a data table for each. We have a guide and demo here: Creating and publishing | WP Data Access

Let us know if that helps! ??

Hi, thanks for your quick response. Your guide and demo refer to an existing table in a database. I am starting with a pure standard database created by WordPress. Then I am using your table builder and create a table “mitglieder” – seemed to be successful. Then of course I need some fields and therefore use the designer. For my test 4 simple fields are way enough, nothing complex – just character fields like name etc. Now the table designer shows a red flag with no obvious reason, every other funktion like ShortCode produces justs errors. I have now removed everything (Wamp64, WordPress, deleted all folders, restarted the PC and started from scratch – but to no avail. For me this plugin is not an option at all for me. Sorry for bothering you. waukn.

    Hi @waukn,

Sorry for the trouble you encountered.

Red flags appear if there are issues with naming tables and columns. We have more information here: Naming conventions | WP Data Access

We also made a new demo in creating a new table inside WordPress.

    See the demo here: https://share.zight.com/bLuQGK0r

Dear Kim, thanks for your proposals. I am a retired IT person and well aware of the RTFM problem. As I am a beginner with your plugin, I consumed all available demos and tutorial before starting. Nevertheless my installation produces different results and strange error messages. My test table consists of two fields, “Number” and “Name”, no special character. Therefore the red flag seems to be “fake news”. If you like, I can provide you with screenshots of my approach and the resulting errors. BR, waukn

Hi, why is it so hard to send you a zip file with screenshots? I have worked now for some hours to provide you with detailled information concerning the malfunktion. But I don’t find a way to attach the file. Sorry, I give up now.
