• I have 4556 pages on my WordPress site. (all text) NO big images, etc.
The front end is spiffy quick. Load time avg 1.3sec.

The dashboard is very very slow, i.e. clicking “add new page” can take 30-40 seconds to create a new page.

I believe I need to increase the speed by which the database tables are being searched (but I’m not 100% certain).

There are 11 tables, 52megs info total (48megs of it in the posts) and 20,000 lines total

    Any solutions are much appreciated.
    I’ve run out of ideas.

    Thanks!

  • I’ve been on dashboards with over 20K posts with no slowdown. Could be your theme or a plugin. To rule that out disable or delete all plugins and switch to the default theme (TwentyEleven since 3.3). After making these changes does the problem still occur? If no, re-enable everything one by one to see which component causes the problem.

Thanks…yes, I did disable all plugins and went back to TwentyEleven…dashboard still slow. < Only with pages. It’s snappy when clicking from posts to appearance, etc.

    I do appreciate the ideas.
