Before this, I did go to the updates page, selected all plugins (all 3 needed updates) and clicked [update]. During the update process, I accidentally navigated away from the page and waited a few minutes before going in and deleting the “.maintenance” file on the server.

It updated all 3 plugins successfully. But, to be sure, I deleted all 3 plugins and then re-installed the newest versions.

    Note:
The update indicator (1) next to the Plugins link on the Dashboard menu exists even when NO plugins were installed.

Is there a database setting I can go in and fix manually?

At this time, the site functions properly and I do not see the need in adding an unnecessary link.

I am quite experienced with WP, and this is the first time I have accidentally navigated away from the updates page while it was updating…and am ashamed & upset with myself for doing so. But, I know I am not the only one because I have found several posts relating to this issue, but didn’t find a recent solution that would work for me.

    Thanks for your time.
