WP-Cron isn't working, please check it!

Hi all, i’m getting the following message;

“BackWPup: – WP-Cron isn’t working, please check it!”

I would happily pay for someone to go in and sort this out for me, if the rate is reasonable. I think it is interfering with my backups and would feel better if this was working.

I’m running the latest stable version of wp and have just tried adding wp-cron plugin to see if this helps but that plugin is now activated but stating that updates are available even after i’ve updated. could be related?
