    Hi folks!

So, I discovered that my WordPress site is much bigger than it’s supposed to be. It’s a pretty basic website still and it’s 550MB, which I don’t think is appropriate.

Off I went into the files and there is one thing that stands out to me. In wp-content/uploads, there is a folder called “backup” which, as the name suggests, contains copies of all my media uploads.

That seems… unnecessary. I use Updraftplus to backup my site, so as far as I’m aware, there is no need for this extra backup folder. Especially not on my site itself. Now, I can remove all this stuff, but unless I find who or what is putting this in my upload folder, it’ll just start building up again.

Ideas? Who could be the culprit (a plugin?)? Or is this a normal WordPress functionality?
